Idaho Rhythm Dance Co. History!!!
Chapter 1:

In 1985 Ross and Arnette Johnson, parents of 5 growing children,
took the leap of starting a dance company the first of its kind in the
Treasure Valley.  They began teaching their own children,  (all of
whom learned very well) and those who attended the same church.
Slowly, but steadily, they attracted a very high number of students,
and added onto their home a studio suitable for instructing them.
They are the true pioneers of many traditions that continue today.
They started a clogging community that has since spread to all parts
of the Treasure Valley.  Multiple students from their instruction have
traveled the world, and have started successful dance companies of
their own.  Both took an active role in teaching and mentoring
students, pushing them to smile, practice, and work towards
perfection, without the use of a caddle prod! (though sometimes it
was needed :).   Because of their efforts, we celebrate over 20 years
of clogging excellence.

Perhaps the most important part of their legacy, was the spirit of
family that has traveled throughout the years among the teams and
parents.  We conclude that we have some of the best parents,
students, and instructors, because of the history of this great
organization.
CHAPTER 2

iN 1999, Ross and Arnette's oldest son, Greg Johnson, took on the
family business, and ran with it with the help of his good wife Angel.
Being slightly younger and a little more limber, Greg and Angel took an
already great thing, and ran with it to make it even better.

They worked to push the envelope of clogging from traditional country
western style, to include hip-hop, and other high energy styles.  This
provided for very competitive dances, and challenging footwork.  They
had great vision and a sense of passion, obviously inherited from mom
and dad Johnson, to make clogging challenging, fun, and something to
respect.  They've had a wonderful ability to connect with their cloggers,
and keep everyone feeling like clogging is fulfilling.

Retaining its awesome reputation, Greg and Angel changed the name
of Treasure Valley Cloggers, to Idaho Rhythm Dance Company in
2004.  As life happens and unexpected changes take place, Greg and
Angel found that after nearly 10 years of amazing clogging instruction,
it was time to move on...
Chapter 3:

Robbie Walker took lessons from the original Johnsons from 1988 on.
Many of the lessons he teaches today, have come from the years
under the direction of the Johnson family.  His sweet (and lovely, and
perfect, and awesome, and amazing, and talented!) wife Kara, grew
up as a performer on stage, singing, dancing, and acting.  In June of
2005, Robbie and Kara took over Idaho Rhythm Dance Co.

Before getting married, Robbie and Kara took on this great company
together.  With the combination of stage performance mastery of
Kara, and the steps of Robbie, they feel up for the challenge!  Their
approach to this wonderful program is to take all of the great aspects
of what Treasure Valley Cloggers had, and add the focus of
commitment, and performance technique to give Idaho Rhythm the
best resources available to allow its students to excel beyond what
they ever could have before.
